The first Corporate Chess League tournaments have ended

On July 22 and 23, the first tournaments of live chess tournaments within the Corporate Chess League were held in Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg, respectively. This is a new project of Sportico, the organizer of the International Online Chess Business League.

9 teams of enterprises from Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Kemerovo regions took part in the Corporate Cup of Siberia. As a result, the first place was won by the Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk team (Novosibirsk), followed by their countrymen from the "Regional Electric Networks", and the bronze awards went to Tomsk chess players from Tomskneftekhim.

Well, a day later, already in Yekaterinburg, the strongest was found out by the teams of enterprises of the Ural Federal Okurg at the Corporate Cup of the Urals. 11 teams took part in the tournament and the strongest were the current champions of the International Chess Business League - a team of teachers from Perm State National Research University (PSNIU). The power engineers from T Plus Ural (Yekaterinburg) were one point behind them. The third place was won by the team of Seversky Pipe Plant (Polevskoy). Separately, it should be noted that Beloyarsk NPP put up 2 teams for the tournament at once, which, together with the teams VIZ-Steel (Yekaterinburg) and UPKB Detail (Kamensk-Uralsky), shared the 4th to 7th place.

It is worth noting that the past tournaments gave impetus to new ideas, not only in expanding the geography of Corporate Chess League tournaments, but also, for example, the Chess Federation of the Novosibirsk region proposed to create a city corporate league with tournaments among the teams of Novosibirsk enterprises in several stages during the calendar year. We will work on this project as well!
