Severstal-Infocom wins the Science and Technology Cup

On December 1, the 2024 Science and Technology Cup was held on the Lichess online platform as part of the 7th season of the International Online Chess Business League. The tournament was attended by chess players from companies and enterprises in the fields of science, education, IT, telecom, high-tech industries - a total of 89 teams from Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. As a result, the personal-team tournament ended with the victory of the Severstal-Infocom team (Cherepovets, consisting of: Sergey Vlasov, Nikolai Orekhov, Alexander Vinogradov), who finished with a score of 26.5 points out of 33 possible. The second with a score of 25.5 points were the Rubius chess players (Tomsk, consisting of: Egor Pakhomov, Sergey Zapolsky, Sergey Koshevoy) and the bronze medal was won by Rostelecom (Moscow, consisting of Alexander Zveryachenko, Alexander Mityushev, Andrey Pavlov), who scored 24.5 points. In addition to the winners, 13 more teams reached the finals, namely: Gazprom VNIIGAZ (Razvilka), NLMK - 2 (Lipetsk), Lanit (Moscow), the G.I. Institute of Computational Mathematics. Marchuk RAS (Moscow), Rostelecom - 2 (Moscow), National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Minsk, Belarus), NLMK (Lipetsk), Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow), RFNC-VNIIEF (Sarov), Solar (Moscow), OKB Novator (Yekaterinburg), Red Banner (Ryazan), The Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure Facilities (Moscow).
