Building Structures Plant No. 1 (Omsk) wins the Cup of Industry

On Saturday, April 20, the largest industry chess tournament among industrial enterprises, the Cup of Industry, was held on the Lichess online platform. The corporate tournament was held as part of the VIII season of the International Online Chess Business League and brought together chess fans from 64 teams from 51 companies from Russia and Kazakhstan. As a result, the victory was celebrated by a solid margin by the team of the Building Structures Plant No. 1 (Omsk, consisting of: Konstantin Starosek, Oleg Zolotov, Boris Berkovich) with a score of 28.5 points out of 33 possible. Literally in the last round, the silver awards of the tournament were snatched by the LUKOIL Engineering team (Moscow, consisting of Artem Nikolin, Semyon Fadeev, Ivan Polezhaev) with a score of 24 points. Two teams from UOMZ (Yekaterinburg) and Gaisky GOK (Guy) were half a point behind Lukoil, but the factory workers from the Ural capital were slightly higher in additional indicators. UOMZ was represented by Roman Zhilchenko, Stepan Balashov, Dmitry Perevozkin.  In addition to the 4 aforementioned teams, 8 more teams entered the final tournament of the VIII season, namely: Nevinnomysskiy Azot (Nevinnomyssk), NLMK (Lipetsk), PhosAgro (Cherepovets), Kola MMC - 2 (Monchegorsk), Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg (Orenburg), Arctic LNG 2 (Novy Urengoy), Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling factory (Chelyabinsk), Verninskoye Pole (Bodaibo) Thus, 32 teams have already qualified for the final tournament of the VIII season of the International Online Chess Business League. The final will be held on May 17 (Saturday) on the Lichess online platform.
